How Weld County Keeps Tabs on Your Favorite Food Spots
So, you’ve probably never given much thought to how your corner deli gets its clean bill of health. But here in Weld County, it’s a real production, folks. These guys mean business.
Rating the Grub Scene
Weld County’s got a whole system in place—evaluating joints that handle food with a fine-toothed comb. We’re talking restaurants, schools, grocery stores, the works. They label these spots in three ways: pass, reinspection required, or come on, really, closed. And let’s be real, no one wants to be on that last list.
The Inspection Rundown
Here’s the scoop: during inspections, they check everything. Cooling, reheating, cooking, refrigeration, you name it. Not to mention cross-contamination and employee hygiene. If a place gets a pass, they’re doing alright. Maybe they slipped up somewhere, but they fixed it on the spot.
Now, if you see reinspection required, forget about it! That’s code for “we fixed some stuff, but we’ve got more work to do.” And closed? Pack it up, buddy. That means they found something nasty, a real health hazard.
Getting Back in the Game
You’ll see a little asterisk (*) beside some “closed” spots. That’s a good thing; it means they’ve cleaned up their act and reopened. Nobody wants to stay closed in this town. Now, let’s take a stroll through some recent evaluations.
Greeley’s Good Eats
From October 10-16, 2025, these were the spots that got the once-over:
- 7-Eleven on E. 18th St. – Routine. Pass.
- Aunt Helen’s Coffee House on 8th Ave. – Routine. Pass.
- Blackjack Pizza on 16th St. – Routine. Pass.
- IHOP on W. 29th St. – Routine. Pass.
And a whole bunch more, like Honey Baked Ham, Red Robin, and Wendy’s, all getting a friendly pat on the back.
Evans and Its Squeaky Cleans
Rolling over to Evans:
- Carniceria Las IV Americas and the Donuts Factory both aced their routine visits with flying colors.
Not Everyone Makes the Cut
Down in Johnstown, Los Dos Garcias didn’t quite make the grade. Their routine inspection means they’ll need another look.
Windsor Takes a Bow
In Windsor, favorites like Main Street Catering and Taco Bell came out shining. Even Wendy’s isn’t missing a beat.
Keep an eye out, folks. You never know when your local lunch spot’s getting its next surprise guest.
